What I wish was different
I wish I had had more choice in my project, and I wish my project had a more concrete and direct impact on the field of particle physics.
Advice
Choose your advisor carefully. Try different types of projects to see what you like if you can, because even if you don't like one or both of them, you'll have points of comparison.

Rewarding to work with high school students in the program and the college aged RAs

Better management and communication. Higher administrations could be improved by being more attentive to employee concerns rather than siding with parents in correctional issues.
Advice
Expect to work hard and find ways to make the most of the experience through networking. Little professional development but good compensation.
