Business Process Analyst Intern

May 2019 • Alpharetta, GA

What I liked

I loved the culture! The HR onboarding for Summer interns did an amazing job of showing off the company as a whole, so you're not just stuck in the role of your internship. We had a great experience in working as a whole internship class to deliver on a large corporate initiative.

What I wish was different

The onboarding for the specific business unit I was interning at was a little rigid. It took a while to get a good grasp of the business unit as a whole, which made some of the initial project work confusing.

Advice

Be open to learning! I had a previous internship before this one and I was still lost during my time here. I would recommend researching the Fintech industry, so you can have a better understanding of what the products of Fiserv do. That will definitely help trickle down to how you view your role and the company.

production inspection generalist

July 2018 • Shoreview, MN

What I liked

I liked how relaxed the job was, it was all based on personal progress that contributed to the whole team. I could go at my own pace without any pressure unless a certain client required it or the time frame was coming short. The timely commitments are day to day instead of by the end of certain days.

What I wish was different

My hours weren't ideal because I worked overnight. Now that I'm in school I usually work from 10:30 pm to 1:30 am on Thursday's, but that still isn't completely ideal. If someone were to take this job I would recommend taking a different shift.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share about this experience is to have sufficient time management skills because the work you do individually is how your merit is based. It is easy to take your time with assignments however, it would be smart to group tasks a certain way to increase productivity.

Business Analyst

May - August 2017 • Alpharetta, GA

What I liked

The various projects that were assigned to me and the different business units I was able to be a part of. I was a part of the enterprise technology group and assisted with the implementation of the company's new communication software. I helped out with tracking associate data using Microsoft Power BI and excel. I thought it was interesting to know that every small project that was accomplished ultimately contributed to the business as a whole.

What I wish was different

Can't think of anything I'd intentionally want changed. Everything was great.

Advice

Study new topics when you get home everyday and read current articles from whatever field you're working in. You will be able to articulate your interest in the field to your employer and prove your worthiness to your coworkers.
