I got to watch surgeries as well as learn about how the OR works.

I wish I could have been on call more. I wish scheduling was more organized.

It is important to know your role in the hospital and be where you are needed.

What I liked

A perfect opportunity to gain a lot of exposure to healthcare. Hands-on work, quick learning curve, interdisciplinary, fantastic team work.

What I wish was different

I wish it was closer - I did not like the drive.

Advice

I would highly recommend working in a hospital if you are pursuing healthcare. Amazing exposure to medicine, how the staff works together, patient care, and how the hospital runs as a whole. It will definitely help you decide if this is the field for you.
