What I liked

In addition to the research, which was well-organized and interesting, the REU at the University of Minnesota did a really good job of including other program activities, such as weekly seminars from other Physics faculty.

What I liked

I gained exposure to the research industry, grant writing, and was constantly learning new things. Although unrelated to my major, I found that a lot of what I learned was applicable and helped when looking for other opportunities.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been a bit more organized with my data collection, so when I went back to review my results it was easier.

Advice

Reach out to professors of courses you enjoy or with research that you find interesting. More often than not, they will be willing to talk with you and it may lead to future opportunities!

Pine County 4-H Summer Intern

What I liked

I was able to help set up and prepare for the Pine County Fair. I was also able to work with 4-H families over the summer with any of their needs.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have done more day camps with 4-H students.

Advice

I would say make sure to say on top of the activities that you receive so you can do other things like a day camp.
