STEM Internships for Students with Disabilities; with American Association for the Advancement of Science

STEM Internships with American Association for the Advancement of Science

The 2026 AAAS Entry Point! internship application is now open!

These internships are good for students studying:  Astronomy, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Math, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Statistics; as well as Mechanical, Electrical and Biomedical Engineering; and Computer Science

Entry Point! is a STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) internship program for college students with physical, sensory, and/or learning disabilities.  It offers an opportunity to test-drive skills and work with a team of experts in a STEMM field of interest.  Student materials are referred to Entry Point! partners who will select the appropriate candidates for their summer opportunities.

Please note that applications and materials will be reviewed and referred to partners as they come in. Apply early for more opportunities.

Our partners expect us to refer students who have demonstrated the skills and talents in their STEMM fields.  To accomplish this, our best applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Must have a disability – apparent or non-apparent
  • Must have a grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better
  • Must be living in the United States and legally authorized to work in the United States.

To initiate an application, interested students should complete our online application.

As part of the preliminary application, the following documentation must be sent to Laureen Summers at entrypoint@aaas.org.

  • Cover letter
