What I liked
The Alzheimer’s Association actively engages young people in addressing a disease that primarily impacts older adults. Through its educational programs and advocacy efforts, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with community members eager to learn about its mission and access its resources.
My volunteer experience has deepened my understanding of the risk factors associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The organization takes a hands-on approach, striving to provide resources to all, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable populations.
One aspect I deeply appreciate is how accessible and easy-to-understand their materials are, making it possible to educate individuals unfamiliar with Alzheimer’s disease and its terminology. While this illness can feel overwhelming and frightening, the Association works tirelessly to instill hope in those affected.
Their team is a shining example of passion, kindness, respect, and inclusivity, fostering a welcoming environment for volunteers and community members alike.
