I loved CIEL's open, welcoming work environment and the challenging work on issues of economic development, human rights, and environmental problems that I was able to undertake there. I also loved how many interns there were to meet and socialize with both at CIEL and in DC generally.
What I wish was different
I didn't love the office space itself, but I was at CIEL during its office move so imagine the feel of the new office will get better with time as the organization settles into its new home.
Advice
Take initiative: ask for more tasks if you have capacity, explore and learn things you weren't directly assigned, be a go-getter.

What I liked
It was a very small office so I got to actually be involved in what was going on. My boss was incredibly smart and supportive.
