Every day was a little different. Sometimes I was researching local universities, other times I was doing event planning or learning how to conduct a student intake assessment. The team is small so it was easy to become a part of the group unlike at a big corporation where you can get lost in the shuffle.
What I wish was different
The office I was in had never really had an intern come onboard before, so I blazed a path that didn't exist. It was a learning experience and I hope my experience makes it easier for other interns after me to get started in this great program.
Advice
Do the absolute best you can from the moment you clock in, to the moment you clock out, because an internship is like an extended job interview. Your input and contribution is being observed at ALL times and you want to make the best impression you can! Don't underestimate your influence with the people who you don't directly report to, because they're watching your work ethic too and you never know how that can help/hinder you.
