Chick-Fil-A

Talent Adquirió

May - August 2023 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

I genuinely enjoyed my summer internship experience at Chick-fil-A. There were several aspects that I found particularly appealing: Valuable Learning Experience: The internship program provided me with invaluable insights into the workings of a corporate environment. I appreciated the opportunity to learn about corporate operations, teamwork, and project management in a real-world setting. Meaningful Projects: I was placed in the Early Talent Team, where I had the opportunity to work on projects that had a significant impact. Developing a CRM database for future recruitment efforts and participating in a research project for the LDP program were highlights. Collaborative Work Environment: I had the privilege of working alongside dedicated team members who encouraged collaboration and creativity. This allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the team's goals. Cultural Enrichment: Living in Atlanta during the internship provided me with a unique cultural experience. Exploring the history, diversity, and vibrant atmosphere of the city, as well as enjoying its festivals and attractions, was a memorable and enriching aspect of the internship.

What I wish was different

While my summer internship at Chick-fil-A was a remarkable experience, there are a few areas where I believe there's room for improvement: Diversity and Inclusion: I wish there had been more diversity within Chick-fil-A's Atlanta headquarters. Promoting diversity in the workplace is not just about meeting quotas but about embracing a wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. A more diverse team can lead to more innovation and a richer work environment. I believe providing opportunities for interns to join full-time roles with an emphasis on diversity can contribute to a more inclusive corporate culture. Opportunities for Interns: It's essential to create pathways for interns to transition into full-time roles within the company. While I gained valuable insights during my internship, I believe it's equally crucial to provide opportunities for individuals, even those with limited prior experience, to grow within the organization. Offering structured programs or guidance for interns looking to take on full-time positions would be beneficial. Employee Branding: Chick-fil-A's employee branding could benefit from further distinction. While the company is renowned for its exceptional product branding, the image of the organization's work culture and career opportunities could be made more distinct. A well-defined and attractive employee branding strategy can help potential interns and employees understand the unique value and experiences that Chick-fil-A offers, separate from product branding. These suggestions aim to enhance the overall experience for both interns and prospective employees while promoting diversity and fostering a more engaging and transparent work environment at Chick-fil-A's Atlanta headquarters.

Advice

My advice to future interns at Chick-fil-A is to embrace every opportunity to learn and grow. Here are a few key takeaways: Be Proactive: Take the initiative to seek out learning opportunities and ask questions. Don't hesitate to share your ideas and contribute to projects. Build Relationships: Establish meaningful connections with your colleagues and mentors. Networking is a valuable part of the internship experience, and these relationships can have long-term benefits. Embrace Diversity: Explore and appreciate the cultural and social diversity that Atlanta has to offer. It's a unique aspect of the internship, and it can broaden your perspective. Seek Feedback: Actively seek feedback on your performance and use it as a tool for improvement. Constructive criticism can help you grow both personally and professionally. Overall, my Chick-fil-A internship was a transformative experience, and my advice is to make the most of every opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute.
