What I liked

I really liked how relaxed the environment of the office and of the other employees was. Despite this being my first internship, I never felt overwhelmed or under pressure. My employer was incredibly helpful and took time to go over tasks with me and teach me about the overall structure of a philanthropy. I learned about philanthropy portfolios, marketing for a non profit, and about non profit outreach.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more variety in the tasks assigned to me.

Advice

I would advise someone to ask lots of questions and try to gain as much information as you can from the experience. Since COTN are so willing to answer questions and educate more than a normal internship, take the opportunity to learn as much about working for a non profit as possible.
