China Merchants Bank:
Established in 1987 and headquartered in Shenzhen, China. China Merchants Bank is China’s first joint-stock commercial bank and also the first bank to attend the national experiment for the promotion of China’s banking industry reform driven by endeavors from outside the government.

China Merchants Bank New York Branch was established in 2008 and was the first Chinese bank to obtain a bank operating license in the United States in 17 years since the implementation of the Foreign Bank Supervision Enhancement Act in 1991.
