What I liked
I loved the culture of City Furniture and how I was able to learn and grow in an amazing environment. I was able to better develop my communication skills, taking on average of 20 customers a day, working with them and either helping them solve whatever problem they encountered. Also, I was able to enhance my Spanish, From only knowing a few words in Spanish, I am now able to text, read, and write to fluent Spanish speaking individuals.
From this internship, I learned learn how important it is to work for a company that values you as an employee. From meeting the CEO on my first day of training, to going bowling with the other interns and recruiters, and having an annual intern dinner at the President's house, I immediately felt as I was a part of the City Family. When working for City Furniture, if I ever had a question or needed aid with anything, my coworkers and mangers were always by my side to aid me. Their culture was very inviting.
Typically when students think of a great company to work for post grad, they tend to look for a company that will offer them a high paying salary. But, after starting to work for t the company, they may realize that they are unhappy wherever they work and not only think of the money. I realized how important it is to work somewhere that you have the ability to grow, be valued, and move up in.
