I loved working with everyone at CFRI. Getting to connect with a wide range of professionals in the field was a wonderful part of the job. I also enjoyed getting a large variety of field experience including both botany and forestry data collection.
What I wish was different
I wish more of us had the opportunity to get to work with the data post-collection. I think the opportunity to not only collect the data but also see how it is used would have been a valuable experience.
Advice
I would highly recommend connecting with people within the organization. I learned so much from the time I spent talking with my crew members, crew leaders, and research assistant. They all have such a wide variety of experiences and knowledge. Learning about their paths has made me feel more prepared to go out into the real world with a natural resource degree.
