What I wish was different
It can be difficult sometimes to communicate about days off and my schedule. I have been double booked and booked for days off and it can be hard to get days off sometimes.
Advice
If you walk in to a new client with confidence, you will succeed. Request days off, well in advance (more than 30 days).

Caregiver for two brothers with Autism (ASD)

What I liked
I really enjoyed the experience of not only working with children (6 and 8) on the autism spectrum, but to be able to compare their characteristics to gain a broader understanding of ASD.
What I wish was different
I would have enjoyed working with the boys in an educational setting.
Advice
The best way to learn is through experiences. I would highly suggest seeking out opportunities to gain as much experience as you can if you are interested in special education!
