I was exposed to a new population and it was also a laid-back position.
What I wish was different
I wish it would have been a little more organized, also wish I was taught some more.

Communications Intern

What I liked
The people! Common Ground has an amazing staff. Everyone works together to support one another and further the mission of moving people from crisis to hope. The energy is consistently upbeat and positive, focused on making positive changes in the community.
What I wish was different
Interning without pay can be difficult, but the experience was well worth it.
Advice
Stay positive and learn to self motivate. Common Ground is great because you as an intern are entrusted with way more than getting coffee. You'll be working on large projects with a lot of independence - don't expect to be micromanaged!
