About Copa Airlines

Copa Airlines is one of the leading airlines in Latin America and one of the most successful and profitable airlines in the world. The carrier operates approximately 320 daily flights to 75 destinations in 31 countries in North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Copa also is a member of the leading global airline alliance – Star Alliance, and has code share agreements with United Airlines among other carriers.

The company operates one of the youngest fleets in the Americas, with an average age of just over five years, featuring 100 B737NG and E190 aircraft.

Copa has successfully conceived and implemented a strategy to serve as an intra-America connecting carrier based around the use of Panama’s Tocumen airport as a connecting hub, known as “the Hub of the Americas.”

Compañía Panameña de Aviación, S.A., (NYSE: CPA) (commonly referred to and branded simply as "Copa Airlines")[2] is the flag carrier of Panama. It is headquartered in Panama City, Panama,[1] with its main hub at Tocumen International Airport. It operates more than 315 daily scheduled flights to 74 destinations in 31 countries around North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Copa is a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A. as well as a member of the Star Alliance.[3] The airline is also the main operator and owner of Colombian airline AeroRepública, currently known as Copa Airlines Colombia.

Copa was founded in 1947 as the national airline of Panama and it began domestic operations to three cities in Panama shortly afterwards. The airline then abandoned its domestic flights in 1980, in favor of international flights. In 1998, Copa formed a strategic partnership with Continental Airlines, adopting a new brand image and the OnePass frequent flyer program and later replaced by MileagePlus, which was replaced by ConnectMiles in July 2015.[4]

As of 2013, Copa Airlines employed over 9,000 people, most of them residing in Panama and was one of the fastest growing and largest companies in the country.

Panama is one of the most modern and safe cities in Latin America. It serves as a business, commerce, finance and logistics center for the region. Panama is also blessed by beaches in two oceans, natural parks, historic sites, culture and a dynamic nightlife, among many other touristic highlights.
