Lab Associate

May - August 2018 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

Speaking as someone who is considering going into a research-based grad program, it was a great learning experience working alongside Masters, PhD's, university professors and research scientists on a large research initiative. Disney Research has a very interdisciplinary environment. It was very exciting seeing how people from different academic backgrounds solve problems and collaborate. Disney employees also get a lot of good perks.

What I wish was different

I wish I had a closer relationship with my mentor and received more help from him.

Advice

It's okay to be confused at the start of a new research project. It is important to go through the process of reading extensively, understanding the problem space, defining the problem, and seeking help.
