Advice
It is worth working for a park district or public works. It's a way to give back to the community by also getting paid.

What I liked
I loved the environment of the recreation center. My co-workers became my best friends, and I met some amazing people I will keep in contact with for the rest of my life. I liked the hours I worked, and I enjoyed waking up early to see the people who wake up at 4 am everyday just to workout.
What I wish was different
Management was not very helpful due to inexperience. Things would break, or lights would go out and it would take months to get fixed or replaced.
Advice
The people you work with make the experience worth wild. I learned to get myself out there, and not be shy and try to make everyone's day better everyday.
