I liked working with kids and introducing them to some new things they may not have experienced before.
What I wish was different
I wish the program would have been longer.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share is continue to have patience, not only with the kids but with everything. Its summer so a lot of things are really different than it would be during the school year.

What I liked
I got a more hands-on approach in the academic/educational portion of a summer camp. Emotional development lesson plans and the tight-knit community was a wonderful feeling when things got a bit hectic.
What I wish was different
More frequent meetings with supervisors for check-ups on how we were doing and what could be improved upon. Criticism will always sting, but it's good when used constructively.
Advice
Learning to effectively deal with youth who may be a bit troublesome patiently and effectively is a necessity. I found I did that best through one-on-one sessions meant to hear their side of the story.

I would have loved to be a part of more big picture meetings.
