I really loved working with my supervisors. They always guided me in a direction where I could learn and I felt like more of a friend to them than a subordinate. I learned a lot about business in general along with the specifics of my position.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have gotten the chance to work on more small projects. I did have a very large project to work on the whole summer that had a lot of components but I wish I did more small projects to diversify from only talking about the large one.
Advice
Make sure you talk to people outside your own department because you can learn a lot that can apply to your own position and life.

Engineering Intern
June - July 2018 • Skokie, IL
What I liked
Everyone was super welcoming and supportive. They had a large amount of interns and had various intern events and activities throughout the summer.
What I wish was different
I wish there was a little more structure to the work they had the interns do. I wish I worked on more projects that were more specific to my major.
Advice
Watch the employers and how they handle things daily. Every company dynamic is different and you can learn a lot of things from how experienced people work.

Advice
Going into an internship or new position just out of undergrad, remember that you’re not expected to already have all the answers and that you’re there to learn. Ask questions!
