What I liked

Majority of the time all my coworkers were fun to work with. Also there are multiple regulars who were so kind to the staff and would always tip! Moreover, I really liked the job itself! Making drinks was really fun and I loved engaging with the customers in small conversations and such.

What I wish was different

I wish I didn't choose to be an opener for Dunkin because even over the summer break it was so hard for me to get goo sleep and not be tired the next day. I wish I picked hors later in the day. Furthermore, if my schedule stayed consistent and my days off were put together, I would have not felt so physically and mentally exhausted from this job as I was.

Advice

Don't be an opener despite how nice it sounds to get home from work by 10am. My sleep schedule never adjusted to waking up at between 2-3am for the whole 4 months I worked there during the summer. I would immediately get home so dead tired and hungry that no matter how hard I tried, I would eventually fall asleep and in turn, stay up the whole night. In addition, you will not receive ANY breaks, part time or full time. There is no place to eat a lunch or just to simply have time to yourself for a few minutes. This was also the cause of me being so mentally drain after so many days of work. I'd say skip this job if you have the choice.

What I liked

All of the coworkers were extremally nice and helpful, and everybody felt like part of the team. The manager was also very willing to accommodate changes in your schedule if you needed to take the day off or if you wanted to work extra hours in the week.

What I wish was different

For the first two weeks of my employment, the Dunkin was under management by a different manager. This manager made everybody's jobs much harder and much more stressful. He would not teach any of the new employees, but make other employees, sometimes with only 3 days work experience, teach new hires. He would only ever help on making drinks when there was a customer he personally recognized. He also was very prone to yelling at employees while customers were in the dining area.

Advice

I would say that if you want to work at a Dunkin, make sure that you ask employees or maybe even people who frequently go to that particular restaurant what the manager is like, because the manager highly contributes to your experience.
