Emergency Response Training Center

About Emergency Response Training Center

This opportunity is not intended for employment, but to offer a dynamic educational opportunity this summer for students who are interested in medicine or exploring more knowledge in handling medical emergencies. The Emergency Response Training Center is licensed by both the Michigan Proprietary School Licensing Division as well as the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services EMS Division. Students are trained to take vital signs, administer various forms of oxygen administration, deliver a baby, manage medical and trauma patient's care while performing patient assessment skills. Students will learn how to perform advanced airway procedures as well as introduced and practiced in assisting in both nasal and oral tracheal intubation. Students will become BLS certified in CPR, airway obstruction and the use of an AED. Whether your goal is to gain personal knowledge before taking a hiking trip or your goal is to move into advanced medical practice, this course will help prepare you with the skills needed to handle the basics of any medical or traumatic emergency. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have the opportunity to sit for the National Registry of EMT Exam that will allow them to apply for State licensure as an EMT in all 50 states once meeting each states additional requirements. The knowledge learned in this class is an excellent way to build patient contact hours as well as to build some great lasting memories.
