Be willing to learn, and listen to what others have to teach you! You can learn so much from this company, that stretched beyond the work environment.

Customer Service Representative Intern
May - August 2021 • Sumter, SC
What I liked
The work-life balance was stellar. My coworkers were honest, friendly, down-to-earth people who truly had the desire to help me develop professionally and personally in my internship role. When I made mistakes, I had a team that remained supportive and patient. When I succeeded in completing a milestone (learning a new piece of software, helping a customer fix an issue, etc.) I had a team that celebrated that success with me.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had more time to work at FTC in this internship role.
Advice
Get out of your comfort zone. Customer service is a field that is excellent for developing interpersonal skills, which are arguably just as important, if not more, than pure technical ability. When you are surrounded by a good team, like the team at FTC, it's important to understand that building solid relationships with fellow CSRs will allow you to leverage their knowledge, expertise, and advice as soon as possible. The best way to do this is to hop out of your comfort zone and begin developing those friendships and work relationships.
