What I liked

I have worked there for five years now, and they are very willing to adapt my schedule to what I need. They are also great about making sure that I can come back for school breaks. They also help me pay for college.

What I wish was different

I really enjoyed the work. I wish that management had a little more involvement in getting to each of us, even though we are only around for a few months out of the year.

Advice

I would always advise to be honest with your supervisor. They are more willing to help you than you think they are.

The freedom to use whatever ingredients we had in the kitchen/freezer/cooler to make a buffet for customers.

What I wish was different

I wish I had found a better summer job. The pay is small for the amount of responsibility and labor placed on the hot bar cook.

Bakery Associate

What I liked

During school, I worked part time hours and full time hours during breaks/summer. In the bakery department, their work culture has teamwork virtues. Picking up after another but also holding them accountable as well. What I liked the most was taking on new responsibilities. I was a packager and I volunteered to become the part time donut ice, who starts at 2 am-10 am. It’s independent work so all that you do is on you, which is nice because you can be proud of the work you’ve done.

What I wish was different

I wish there was a branch store in the Milwaukee area so I could’ve transferred to it. But there isn’t so, unfortunately, I had to put in my notice.

Advice

Making sure the customers are well taken care of is great, but never forget to take care of the team. Make sure they’re voices aren’t heard and that they have all they need to perform efficiently.
