I was given a lot of freedom to look for projects myself. There were a lot of opportunities for improvement so I was able to exercise my project management skills.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more support in my projects. This was difficult because there were a lot of issues within the company that I had to work around (employee turnover, low budget, no emphasis on lean).
Advice
I would suggest using the skills that you have in any way you can. I sought out the projects that I was on because I knew I could use my skills to help- the projects weren't handed to me.
