I enjoyed getting to travel all over the western United States - I got to visit so many places I would have never traveled to otherwise.
I also enjoyed meeting all the different types of people who work at fire base camps. There are so many different industries involved in managing wildfires.
What I wish was different
The hours and work weeks are long, but the overtime pay makes it worth it!
Advice
Be up for an adventure - fire season can be super busy and you can be called to work anywhere in the western United States!
