The internship is part-time which gives me time to take a couple classes during the summer so that I can stay ahead of the game. The people I worked with in the department are very helpful and good at explaining the tasks they give us. I never felt like I was burdensome when I needed things explained more than once. I learned many professional soft skills on dealing with clients and coworkers.
What I wish was different
Sometimes the work day would be slow or not a lot of people would be in the office.
Advice
Definitely network while there and ask people about their experiences. They are all willing to give advice and explain the benefits of the different fields of accounting.

What I liked
A lot of great resources we're made available to me. I was able to learn a lot of new technologies and proved useful for future classes and for job opportunities.
What I wish was different
I wish there was more integrated into the teams of Florida blue so that I could actually work completely and alongside the regular employees. instead I was kind of giving my own side tasks to be able to sort of help people but it was not as direct as I would have liked. Perhaps more shadowing would have been more beneficial

Keep talking to the people around you in cubicles so that you do not lose opportunities that are ahead of you.

What I liked
I was able to learn so many technologies quickly, and I got a real understanding of how a business functions.
What I wish was different
The internship was a little disorganized, I did not feel like they were ready for me to join the team. Overall it was an excellent experience, however.
Advice
Push yourself to excel, and you will almost certainly be asked to stay on or return at the end of school.
