I genuinely enjoyed the culture of Uganda. The community I worked with brought a lively and humorous attitude to the work place. I was enamored with the knowledge of micro finances and dealing with international governments. This experience allowed for me to understand what career path I would like to pursue.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have been on the ground during this internship over via Zoom.
Advice
Keep an open mind and learn from the community. Do not go into an internship in international development with ways to improve their life. Hear their day-to-day problems and facilitate solution based conversations.
