I got to be directly involved in new product development and process improvement initiatives. I was treated like an entry level engineer and had the freedom to work on any project that interested me, and I was trusted to do a good job.
What I wish was different
My manager was very supportive and had great faith in me, but was very hands off and I only saw him twice a month. I would have loved a little more direction.
Advice
Do not be afraid to advocate for yourself and ask for help when you need it. The other engineers want you to succeed and do not expect you to know everything.
