I enjoy everything about it. There are flexible hours and shifts, all my clients are great and friendly.

In home care isn't for everyone but it is defiantly an experience I am glad I have taken on. It had made my a better person and I learn so much everyday from each of my clients.

What I liked

Getting to spend time with residents and be there for families during hard times with their family members. It was also nice to become closer to coworkers and create a more comfortable work environment.

What I wish was different

It is hard to see residents and their families going through hard times and losses.

Advice

Families appreciate anything you do for them during loss. It’s important to just be there for them and listen to them. Let them cry if they need to and comfort them if necessary.

I have been coming back seasonally for 2 years and still have not received a raise. I also rarely receive call-in pay, even when I get called in.

If you don't truly love working with people and you don't think healthcare is the spot for you don't work as a CNA. IF you're questioning your desire to be in healthcare work as a CNA because it really determines if you have a passion for it.

I loved being able to connect with my residents and to help them with their day to day needs. I loved talking with them and being able to ask them about their past and just being there for them in their times of need.

What I wish was different

I honestly have no complaints; I loved it there so much.

Advice

I would say that if a resident is upset and say something rude, don't get upset with them and don't take what they say to heart.
