I loved being in Los Angeles and getting an authentic, close-up look at the film industry.
What I wish was different
I would have loved to have been paid, but most internships in the film industry are unpaid.
Advice
I sincerely believe that getting the internship I did had 5% to do with my GPA, resume, work experience, or interviewing skills, and 95% to do with networking - reaching out to Davidson alumni and emailing friends of friends (and friends of friends of friends of friends). I found my internship through cold calling people and companies one by one, asking if they were hiring interns this summer. I found online job postings in the film industry to be highly unproductive if not a total waste of time.
