The culture of the company was amazing. They involved you in real projects and wanted to help you grow, but allowed you to also figure things out for yourself
What I wish was different
I got to interact more with the other interns. Maybe if we were seated closer or on the same floor
Advice
Stay open to the company. It may not be in the exact field you anticipated but there are a lot of knowledgeable and well connected people who want to see you grow

Graduate Medical Education Intern
June - August 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
I enjoyed the variety of workshops organized for interns to become more accustomed to the company environment and culture. The mentors assigned to me were also extremely helpful in teaching me what graduate medical education (GME) is and the role GNYHA plays in the national landscape of GME.
What I wish was different
I wish there were more opportunities available for those interested in the Association side.
Advice
Take the opportunity to develop strong professional relationships with your mentors because they are extremely knowledgeable in the area you're interning in and volunteered their time to mentor. Developing relationships now will help you not just during the internship, but also beyond it. GNYHA also has many talented and skilled people working there, so take the time to connect with them and learn more about their positions and how they got there if you're interested in the work they do.
