I loved how welcoming everyone was and how willing everyone was to help me out and turn things into a teaching experience. I really felt like part of the team and felt constantly mentored. I learned and experienced a lot and overall it was an awesome experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I had spent less time at Weld County Records and more time at Dispatch instead. Sometimes doing office tasks got old, but I knew it was freeing up other people's time.
Advice
Make sure you have comfortable but professional office clothes and always dress a bit warmer for ride-alongs than you think you should! Also don't be afraid to ask questions! Everyone is happy to answer and won't belittle you for not knowing. I regretted being too afraid to ask some questions on certain occasions or struggled to pick up certain lingo or acronyms if I didn't.
