Greenville ISD is a district brimming with talented students and dedicated faculty. We lead the marketplace in the instructional practice coined product oriented education, where lessons involve students racing life-sized cardboard boats, building wax museums and erecting electric cars from lawnmower batteries. Rather than the typical “chalk and talk” pedagogy of traditional education, GISD students develop collaborative and sophisticated interpersonal talents while working on Advanced Academic Teams, Independent Study Mentorship and other avant-garde teaching systems.
Greenville ISD is rich in spirit, tradition and community. The renowned Flaming Flashes pioneered their trade in the 1930s and our world winning robotics teams are revered nationwide. The reinvigorated Greenville Educational Enrichment Foundation engages community spirit through fundraising efforts and issuance of teacher grants. Booster clubs and Parent Teacher Associations garner additional support and businesses in the area give freely of time and resources.
