Monitoring & Evaluation Research Intern
June 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
Flexibility. They were understanding of the fact that I had other commitments and let me create a schedule that worked best for me.
What I wish was different
That they would pay their interns, or at least provide a travel stipend
Advice
Interning with HealthCorps is really what you make of it. You have to take initiative to join more projects and check in with other people on the team

Gala Auction Intern
September 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
The community I worked in was very positive and welcoming. Resources were constantly available to me and allowed me to grow in many ways I did not know I was lacking skills. This was also my first internship so it allowed me an insight into the real world and how businesses work.
What I wish was different
During the internship, I realized I wanted to pursue a future in finance so I wish there was more incorporation of this in my everyday tasks. Some days were also very free where I seemed to have no work compared to others where I was given multiple tasks that could not be completed in one day. A better balance would have been helpful to optimize my time in the office.
Advice
This is a very fun environment with many components but it is important to remember it is a business and things you complete reflect the company. It may be easy to get caught up in having fun but staying on task and completing things to the best of your ability should be done first.
