On base experience. Special tours of classified things. Nearly all interns get hired.
What I wish was different
Less waiting for approval from the government to start working. The main building also needs AC.
Advice
It is what you make of it, if you have a good attitude then it will be way better than if you expect to much and have a bad attitude about the job not meeting your explanations.

TCTO Analyst
May - August 2019 • Hill Air Force Base, UT
What I liked
Learned lots of new things, was able to experience the civilian side of the military. I met lots of new people and was treated very well for an intern.
What I wish was different
There was very little guidance from leadership. It was more of a "here's your job, go" instead of "let me teach you"
Advice
The PCIP program is an incredible program. I'd encourage anyone to apply.

Engineering Intern
May - August 2018 • Clearfield, UT
What I liked
I loved working around the military aircraft. Although I didn't work with any type of airplane directly, my work took me all around the aircraft maintenance part of base. I loved watching them take off in the morning and learning all about the process of keeping them fit to fly.
What I wish was different
The bureaucracy of the military being what it is, some practical aspects of my internship seemed very up in the air the whole time I worked there.
Advice
If you have a problem or concern, whether it is an engineering problem or figuring out why you aren't getting your paycheck, figure out who may know more about it than you do and pester them politely until the issue is resolved. People are generally willing to help, but they are also busy and distracted, and your lone email can get lost in the shuffle.
