Independence Bank

About Independence Bank

Independence Bank was founded in 1972 by a group of Havre Business owners who saw a need for a locally owned community bank. The Bank officially opened in March of 1973. Since that time we have acquired branches in Poplar, Scobey, Malta, Glasgow, Conrad and most recently a Loan Production/ Deposit Production office in Great Falls and Plentywood. Our “hometown” banking philosophy and local decision making separates us from our competitors. We specialize in Ag and commercial lending, but we offer a complete range of banking services. We have invested in the newest technology to make sure that we can offer our customers the kinds of services they expect including Online Banking, eStatements and our newest service, Mobile Banking. The decisions we make, our philosophy of sustained growth and our lending practices are all based on the needs of families, Ag operations and businesses in the areas we serve.

Independence Bank currently has over $1 Billion in assets and continues to grow both our lending and deposit portfolios. We have over 120 employees across our 8 locations. Independence Bank is consistently ranked as one of the top community banks in Montana and the nation.

Employees of Independence Bank have the unique opportunity to also be an owner of one the best banks in the state through our profit sharing plan. This plan is not just a great benefit; it is the foundation of our culture at IB. In addition to our profit sharing plan, we offer excellent benefits, a friendly working environment and opportunities for employee growth
