I loved getting to interact with patients and build connections not only with future clients but with future employers and coworkers as well. I enjoyed watching the patients come in week by week and seeing progress in their condition from their dedication to their exercise program.
What I wish was different
I wish I would've had time to volunteer more than just 80 hours. I wish I would have talked to the patients a little more to establish rapport.
Advice
Go into observations hours with a lot of questions and ready for anything they put you up to. You may go in one day and they need you to be a runner ad grab them supplies or clean treatment tables. There may be some days when you get to be more hands-on or attentive to the situation. Be willing to go above and beyond to show your dedication to your desired career field.
