I like that the opportunity was in the medical field which related to my future career goals as an aspiring infectious disease physician. Through my internship at Interfaith I had the opportunuty to research and present data on the stigma among substance abuse HIV/AIDS patients in the clinic. I was able to submit my finding to the NYC Department of Health, as well assit in writing a grant to increase condom distribution in Brooklyn.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had the opportunity to stay at the intership longer because I feel that I was pressed for time for the projects that I needed to accomplish.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share would, be open minded, willing to learn, don't be afraid to ask questions, and be respectful to everyone you encounter during the entire professional experince.
