Knox County Schools is a diverse schools system, providing high quality education to more than 61,800 students in 90 urban, suburban and rural schools. It includes 51 elementary schools. 16 middle schools, 16 high schools and six special schools.
The system is the third largest in Tennessee with a total budget of more than$450 million.
Knox County Schools is one of the top performing school systems in Tennessee and was the first large urban school district to earn the distinction of Exemplary District from the state.
