I got real, hands on industry experience. The team I was working on was small and they included me in fittings,, weekly line review meetings, and even important sales meetings during market week.
What I wish was different
At some points, I felt like my tasks were becoming repetitive. Although I enjoy working with this program, most of the work that I did for the brand exclusively done on Adobe Illustrator and it was all sketching garments.
Advice
I think an intern going into a private label internship experience needs to be able to take initiative and work independently. Especially on a small team, each person is assigned their own responsibilities. It is important to get these done efficiently or speak up and ask for help if you are stuck.

If you are offered an internship in a field that isn’t your first choice, don’t discount The opportunity. It can provide valuable experience in the work force and can teach you what you are looking for in an employer and boss.
