KPMG LLP

Audit Intern

June - August 2023 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

What I wish was different

Advice

Anyone who is an accounting major in college, I would recommend interning at a Big 4 company. I say this because you would not get the type of experience that you would receive at any other company that isn't Big 4. Although the firm is large, the type of connections you get will be unmatched.

What I liked

I liked the flexibility and the ability to grow my network both through my fellow interns all the way to partners. Also, I was able to see all 3 areas of public accounting which really opened my eyes to the career possibilities and mobility available to me. I originally believed I wanted to be in Audit but with my advisory rotation, I learned long term I would like to grow in this field and I created great connections.

Business Tax Services Intern

June - August 2023 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I liked how interns were given a lot of guidance and mentorship during the program. We felt like a part of the team helping others with their work, attending work events together, and grabbing lunch together. KPMG also valued the interns having a fun experience, organizing many events to attend for networking, learning, diversity and inclusion, and just for fun.

What I wish was different

Advice

Keep a positive attitude towards work and learning. As an intern, you are not expected to know a lot and are given a lot of guidance, but you will be given a lot of information to learn to make sure to listen and give it your best!
