I wish I could spend more time interacting with the students and helping them improve their daily mood and motivation.

Advice

This experience taught patience and understanding of student’s feelings, as some students can have poor attitude that can be addressed.

I enjoyed being able to work in a small, quiet environment with bosses that I trusted and influencing young minds.

I would have preferred having more opportunities to pick up more hours and earn more money.

Advice

The learning process is tedious and often frustrating, especially for you f children that would much rather be enjoying their summer. Patience will be your biggest strength there.

The work was a steady routine, and I almost always knew what to expect.

What I wish was different

Advice

Because half of the job involves grading math and reading problems, it is relatively simple but it can get quite monotonous if you aren’t routine-oriented. Many of the kids will also approach you frustrated about their work, so it helps to be patient and walk through it with them.
