I loved getting out of my comfort zone, being the trip photographer/assistant, taking the 12 mile canyon hike with local students, learning about prehistory and history of the area, all while researching the benefits of experiential learning.
What I wish was different
I wish the trip had been a bit longer, it could have been more organized but I must acknowledge that, with all the moving parts involved in this trip, it went fairly smooth and we accomplished what we had originally set out to do.
Advice
Keep an open mind, be respectful of others , their concerns and their cultures. learn to live life halfway behind a camera lense so you never miss a moment that you'll want to remember forever. Be helpful without being in the way. Be yourself.
