What I liked

As an active VMI cadet myself in the class of 23, I liked how the work environment relates to the accomplishments you can achieve through the system here in Lexington: the more effort you want to put in, the more success you will eventually find. Also, I like how my coworkers are more like friends at the end of the summer rather than just fellow employees.

What I wish was different

Even though it is only a summertime job, I wish I took the beginning of the summer more seriously just by committing myself because I could have made several thousand more had I started stronger and carried that momentum throughout the duration of my work experience.

Advice

This is an opportunity that requires someone that is willing to work diligently and consistently, so if you are willing to put in the work for the paycheck, do it.

Great work environment with people who became more of friends rather than just coworkers. The pay was great and it was a valuable experience overall.

It would have been nice if Landlock offered reimbursements for gasoline.

Having the opportunity to live near Washington DC and slowly experiencing all of western Virginia through sales. Developing my personal character and establishing a foundation for my communication skills were also important to me.

Advice

As someone who is generally pretty reserved, a door to door sales position is not something that I saw myself ever doing. Stepping outside of your comfort zone reveals a lot about yourself and is one of the best ways to grow.

The management does a lot to support you while you’re selling and you can stand by what you’re selling because they have a good reputation with their customers.

I wish they would have branched our to newer areas for prospecting.
