I left this location for another hotel in the same area and the difference was night and day. Both were privately owned and I interacted with both owner's directly frequently. The difference was that the latter treated guests, employees, whoever with a human connection and genuine concern that they left with a positive experience. My coworkers at the latter hotel also operated with a "team" mentality over a "family" one which I strongly preferred. I know for a fact this experience does not speak for all hotels in this brand but it was informative on the difference management can make.
