Laundry Service

accounts intern

June - August 2022 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I enjoyed the ability to learn all about the different roles an ad agency offers. I really believe that this internship program's number one concern was for their interns to be well immersed.

What I wish was different

I wish I was able to do some assignments and be hands-on, but since I worked in a client-facing role, I wasn't able to talk much directly to the client, as I was just an intern.

Advice

Take this time to explore which fields in the advertising industry you enjoy and if you think the ad agency life is for you.

Project Management Intern

June - August 2021 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I loved this experience. I learned so much about the marketing world. I learned exactly how a project manager helps multiple teams work together. They keep everything afloat. I loved the people I worked with. I talked with many people from executives to interns. There wasn't a single person not willing or excited to talk!

What I wish was different

As a creative project management intern, I wish I had gotten to see a campaign through. The 10-week internship was almost long enough, but budgetary issues got in the way.

Advice

Don't be afraid to set up meetings with whomever. Be confident, but be prepared. LS combined with the parent company is a large operation. People are busy but willing to carve out some time. Don't waste their time.

Production intern

September - December 2021 • Portland, OR

What I liked

Everyone was very kind, always willing to have one-on-one meetings and always willing to answer questions. They were very flexible with scheduling and worked around my class and work schedule/

What I wish was different

It was remote, so I wish it could have been in-person.

Advice

Make the effort to reach out and talk to people, everyone from your manager to the head of the company is willing to have a chat with you.
