About Lauterbach & Amen, LLP

Lauterbach & Amen, LLP (L&A) is a mid-sized public accounting firm founded in 1997 by two partners, Sherry Lauterbach and Ron Amen. We have a longstanding reputation for an unrivaled commitment to quality service; clients appreciate our small-firm values and large-firm capabilities. Lauterbach & Amen, LLP provides accounting, compilation, assurance, actuary, and consulting services to our clients in the spirit of excellence and altruism.

The firm’s foundation is in the governmental sector, including: pension funds, municipalities, park districts, libraries, fire districts, and other units of government. Over the years, the firm has extended client relationships to other entities outside of government, providing those entities with the same core values of client service and quality, and simultaneously continuing our commitment to being the proven leader in the governmental accounting and benefits industry.

L&A is not only committed to quality service for its clients, but for its employees as well. We have family members, not employees, and we don’t have job titles because each individual’s contribution is crucial to the firm’s success. A career at L&A is whatever you want to make of it. If you are dedicated and show proficiency within your job, L&A is committed to helping you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. With the company’s rapid growth, the opportunities are endless. Not only are we committed to helping you achieve your professional goals, but your personal goals as well by promoting a work-life balance.

Actuarial Intern

June 2019 Naperville, IL
“I loved working with the actuaries! The department is so amazing, and everyone else in the company wants to get to know you. It's a very comfortable work environment. Everyone is always willing to help and there's always something to learn. Being that it is such a small department, you'll get the chance to work with everyone personally. There is potential to take up small individual projects to help everyone in the department out. They provide great exposure to excel and actuarial concepts.”
