Cognitive Skills Trainer

April - August 2018 • San Antonio, TX

What I liked

I got to work directly with students on their cognitive skills. Training with students was a learning opportunity for me to see how neuro-plasticity works. I was able to provide direction, feedback, and accountability to students from a wide range of age groups and backgrounds who struggle with reading and learning; also worked with students recovering from traumatic brain injuries and other cognitive impairments.

What I wish was different

Number of clients, I didn't get many clients thus, less work hours because we only got payed per sessions.

Advice

Overall working with LearningRx was an eye-opening experience and is probably more relevant to those whose major is Psychology. Still, being a pre-med major, it exposed me to a different area in medicine. I gained a lot of training experience as far as coaching clients on specific cognitive skills. Would only recommend during the summer.
