Financial Analyst Intern

June - August 2018 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

I liked working directly with my team and having a specific, focused valuable project to work on. Mine was on Tableau , and I was able to present to the FP&A team and company. There were executive speaker events and a lot of great interns in the cohort. Treated like an employee and able to use the facilities (gym, bar, snacks, massages, nap rooms)

What I wish was different

I wouldn't have much to say about improving the experience. It would have been nice to get commuter benefits.

Advice

It's important to build relationships as best you can in a short amount of time so that even if you don't come back for a full-time role, you have the network to keep working towards jobs you want.

Treated as a full-time employee. Interns had access to the gym, spa, nap pods. Friendly and helpful coworkers.

What I wish was different

The timespan of the internship could be longer.

Advice

The project should be decided in the first week.

What I liked

Work culture. Very accessible managers. Got to work and interface with various teams.

What I wish was different

Wished it was longer, about 10-12 weeks. I would have had a chance to see the impact of my solutions.

Advice

Great company. Has a lot of room for improvement in terms of operational efficiency. Will be one of the big competitors in FinTech
